Entry Requirement

a pass in the Postgraduate Diploma in Special Needs Education from the Open University of Sri Lanka or any other recognized university Or ❖ a pass in the Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the Open University of Sri Lanka or any other recognized university Or ❖ a pass with a minimum GPA 3.0 in Bachelor of Education Degree from the Open University of Sri Lanka or any other recognized university Or ❖ an equivalent or higher qualification acceptable to the Senate

  • Sociological and Philosophical Foundations of Special Needs Education
  • Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment in Special Needs Education
  • Managing Special Needs Education within the existing Education System
  • Transitions for Students with Special Education Needs
  • Assistive and Adaptive Technologies in Special Needs Education
  • Multidisciplinary approach in Special Needs Education (Those who do not have any qualification related to Special Needs Education should complete the course)
  • Quantitative Research methods in Special Education
  • Qualitative Research methods in Special education
  • Research Dissertation
  • Evaluation includes, i. Continuous assessment by means of compulsory assignments; and ii. Written examination at the end of the programme. This will be allowed only to those who get eligibility from continuous assessments
